Suboptimal brings together the sculptural works Interloper and Venin Sequelae, both of which emerged from my experience of breast cancer and chemotherapy. Through stitched forms that suggest bodily change, intrusion and adaptation, the work explores what it means to continue living in a body that no longer conforms to expectations, finding new possibilities within an altered state.
